Audubon County Courthouse Museum

The former Audubon County Courthouse in Exira, Iowa, is a late 19th-century civic building that now houses the Audubon County Historical Society Museum. Its construction was delayed for years by a prolonged dispute over the county seat's location — a disagreement that stretched from the county's founding in 1851 until Exira finally prevailed in the 1870s. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building preserves records and artifacts documenting the settlement history of this corner of the Iowa prairie.
