Avignon TGV

Avignon TGV station opened on 10 June 2001 alongside the Méditerranée high-speed line linking Lyon and Marseille, and sits roughly three kilometres south of Avignon's medieval city centre. The steel-and-glass structure is a functional millennium-era transit building with no architectural or historical connection to the old town. Its two central bypass tracks allow TGV trains to pass through at full speed without stopping. Direct services run to Paris, Marseille, Nice, Lille, Brussels, and Geneva. The station is fully wheelchair-accessible and operated by SNCF Gares & Connexions.
