Bad Birnbach

Bad Birnbach is a small market town in Lower Bavaria's Rottal-Inn district, part of the so-called Lower Bavarian Spa Triangle alongside Bad Füssing and Bad Griesbach. Until 1987 it was simply called Birnbach; its elevation to spa-town status came with recognition of its thermal mineral springs, now central to the Rottal Terme bath complex. The town has the unhurried character of a minor Kurort, drawing visitors seeking thermal wellness rather than sightseeing. It sits well off Bavaria's main tourist routes, making it a quieter alternative to the better-known spa resorts in the region.
