Baumanskaya

Baumanskaya is a station on Moscow Metro's Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line, opened on 18 January 1944 during the height of World War II as part of the Kurskaya–Izmailovskaya extension. Its triple-vaulted hall with a central platform exemplifies the grandeur of Stalinist metro architecture: marble-clad arched pillars transform the underground space into a ceremonial corridor. The station is named after Nikolai Bauman, a Bolshevik revolutionary killed in Moscow in 1905 and subsequently canonized as a martyr of the workers' movement. Recognized as a regional cultural heritage monument of Russia, it remains one of the most intact examples of Socialist Realist design in the Moscow Metro system. Trains run daily from 05:30 to 01:00, with Wi-Fi available throughout the station.
