Fountain of the Bees

Also known as: Fontana delle Api

Gian Lorenzo Bernini small masterpiece of 1644 - three bronze bees from the coat of arms of the Barberini family. Pope Urban VIII, a Barberini, was Bernini greatest patron. The fountain marks the entrance to Via Veneto and pairs with the nearby Triton Fountain by the same artist.
