On Ongpin Street, Binondo Church marks the entrance to the world oldest Chinatown. It is dedicated to Saint Lorenzo Ruiz - the first canonised Filipino, who practised his faith here before suffering martyrdom in Japan in 1637. One of the four minor basilicas of the Archdiocese of Manila.
