Bjørn Bjørnson & Eileen Bjørnson – Burial Site

Burial site in Oslo of the Bjørnson theatre dynasty — father and daughter of a great cultural legacy.

Bjørn Bjørnson (1859–1942) was one of Norway's most influential theatre makers: son of Nobel Prize-winning author Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, he worked as an actor, director, playwright, and theatre director, leading institutions including the National Theatre in Oslo. His daughter Eileen Bjørnson (1884–1944) followed him into the world of theatre. Their shared burial site in Oslo is a quiet place of remembrance for a theatrical dynasty that left a lasting mark on Norwegian cultural life.
