The Boise Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was dedicated in 1984, making it one of the earlier LDS temples built in the Pacific Northwest. Unlike the church's meetinghouses, the temple is restricted to members holding a current temple recommend — non-members are not permitted inside. The white modernist structure, topped by a central spire and gilded Angel Moroni statue, follows the architectural vocabulary common to LDS temples of the era and stands as a recognizable landmark in the Boise landscape.
