Cartwright Gardens

Cartwright Gardens is a small crescent-shaped park and surrounding residential street in London's Bloomsbury district, a short walk from Euston and King's Cross stations. The Georgian crescent was laid out from 1807 as Burton Crescent and renamed in 1908 after the political reformer John Cartwright, whose statue stands in the park. Today the crescent is part of the university quarter, with University of London student halls lining the western side. The small park, with its tennis courts, is open to the public during the day. Visitors can step out of the busy station traffic for a moment and find a quiet pocket between the main arteries.
