Chatuchak Weekend Market
Bangkok's enormous weekend market with 15,000 stalls — Thailand's largest open-air market for vintage finds, handicrafts, street food, and everything in between.
Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok's Chatuchak district is considered Thailand's largest weekend market and one of the biggest open-air markets in the world. With around 15,000 stalls spread across a vast site and up to 250,000 visitors on a single market day, it is a phenomenon of scale. The range on offer is almost unlimited: antiques, vintage clothing, pets, plants, handicrafts, paintings, furniture, Thai street food, and fresh coconuts jostle for space side by side. The labyrinth of narrow lanes, covered stalls, and open-air sections demands a good sense of direction and patience in bargaining — both are rewarded with genuine discoveries. Chatuchak is open on weekends only and sits right next to BTS Mo Chit station and the Chatuchak Park MRT station.
