Modern titular church in Rome dedicated to the creators of the Slavic alphabet

The church of Santi Cirillo e Metodio in Acilia Nord, a southwestern suburb of Rome, was consecrated in 1996 and dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius, the 9th-century missionaries credited with creating the Glagolitic alphabet. The building follows a Greek cross floor plan. As a Roman Catholic titular church, it holds a special rank within the ecclesiastical hierarchy.
