Artist's house museum in Brussels dedicated to the social realist sculptor Constantin Meunier
The Meunier Museum in Ixelles, Brussels, is dedicated to the Belgian sculptor and painter Constantin Meunier (1831–1905), a leading figure of social realism. Housed in Meunier's former private studio, it shows a cross-section of his work: sculptures and paintings depicting workers, miners and dock labourers of 19th-century industrial society with dignity and empathy. Part of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, it is one of the most atmospheric artist's house museums in the country.
