Cremera

Tiber tributary in Lazio, famous from ancient Roman history

The Cremera is a stream roughly 37 kilometres long in the Italian region of Lazio, flowing past Sacrofano, Formello and Campagnano di Roma before joining the Tiber north of Rome. It carries historical weight: in 477 BC, the Roman Fabii clan suffered a catastrophic defeat by the Etruscans on its banks. Near its confluence with the Tiber stands a fragment of an ancient Roman bridge, close to where the Via Flaminia meets Rome's ring road.
