Efteling

Efteling is one of Europe's oldest theme parks, set within a woodland area in Kaatsheuvel, Noord-Brabant — not Rotterdam as the location tag suggests. Since its opening in 1952, the park has built its identity around European fairy tales: the Fairy Tale Forest, where hand-crafted dioramas bring Grimm and Andersen stories to life, is among the oldest intact themed areas of any amusement park in the world. Over the decades the park expanded to include roller coasters, water rides, and the darkly atmospheric haunted attraction 'Villa Volta'. Drawing around 5.5 million visitors annually, Efteling appeals to families with young children as much as to adults drawn in by its dense, forest-wrapped atmosphere.
