International airport of the Curitiba metropolitan area in Paraná, named after Brazilian president Afonso Pena.

Afonso Pena Airport is the international airport serving the Curitiba metropolitan area in the Brazilian state of Paraná. It is located in the neighbouring municipality of São José dos Pinhais, about 18 kilometres south-east of the city centre. It is named after Afonso Augusto Moreira Pena, who served as President of Brazil from 1906 to 1909. The airport is operated by Infraero, Brazil's state airport authority. It has two runways and offers domestic and international connections, primarily to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Curitiba itself is regarded as one of the best-planned cities in Latin America, known for its exemplary bus rapid transit system.
