Jagdschloß Bracht

Jagdschloss Bracht — also known as Burg Bracht — is a small early-18th-century hunting lodge built in 1721 on the northwestern edge of Bracht, a village in the Rauschenberg municipality of Hesse's Marburg-Biedenkopf district, set against the dense Burgwald forest. Likely commissioned by the Hessian landgraves who used the Burgwald as a princely hunting ground, it later served as a forestry office, lending it a quietly functional second chapter. The modest baroque structure with regional half-timbered elements sits beside a small park that gradually dissolves into the surrounding woodland. Today it remains little-visited, offering walkers on the Herrenweg trail an unassuming historical waypoint deep in the forest.
