Balvaird Castle

Balvaird Castle is the ruin of a 15th-century tower house with a distinctive L-shaped plan, located in the council area of Perth and Kinross, roughly 15 kilometres southwest of Perth. The structure was originally built by the Barclay family and later passed to the Murrays of Tullibardine through marriage. It is protected as a scheduled ancient monument under Scottish heritage law. The site today is a quiet, largely unfrequented remnant in open countryside — no visitor centre, no signage to speak of, just the raw stonework of a small medieval residence slowly returning to the landscape.
