Kallang

Kallang is a planning area in Singapore's Central Region, crossed by the eponymous Kallang River and by the Geylang River from the east. The district was once a mangrove estuary and hosted Singapore's first civilian airport, whose striking arrival hall still survives. From the 1970s onward, Kallang turned into a sports and residential quarter, anchored since 2014 by the Singapore Sports Hub with the National Stadium and OCBC Arena. Visitors come for concerts, football matches or to jog along the Kallang Basin Park Connector.
