The Royal Parks of London are eight historic green spaces that once served as royal hunting grounds and are now among the most valuable public parks in Europe. The best-known include Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James's Park and Regent's Park – all nestled within London's urban fabric. Hyde Park is home to the Marble Arch; St James's Park famously harbours pelicans resident since the 17th century. Since 2017 all eight parks have been managed by The Royal Parks charity. Together they form an essential green lung at the heart of the British capital.
