Museum of Yokohama Urban History

The Museum of Yokohama Urban History documents the city's transformation from a 19th-century treaty port to a modern metropolis. Yokohama opened to international trade in 1859, and the rapid urban growth of the Meiji era — foreign concessions, Western-style buildings, and expanding port infrastructure — forms the core of the permanent collection. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 9:30 to 17:00.
