No. 1 Court

No. 1 Court is the second-largest tennis stadium at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, seating 11,393 around an English grass court. It opened in 1997 to replace a smaller predecessor and was fitted in 2019 with a 1,000-tonne sliding roof that closes in about ten minutes. During the Championships top matches run here in parallel with Centre Court, and the arena has hosted marathon five-setters and upset losses for British favourites. Outside the tournament, visitors can step on court as part of the AELTC tour bundled with the adjoining Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.
