Novo-Ogaryovo

Novo-Ogaryovo is a sealed state estate in the Moscow Oblast not far from the city's Krylatskoye district and the town of Krasnogorsk. The 19th-century dacha complex was declared the official residence of the Russian president in 2000 and has since served Vladimir Putin as his preferred place to live and work, from where he regularly holds video conferences and press events. Besides the neoclassical main house the compound contains a chapel, sports complex and helipad and is ringed by a multi-kilometre exclusion zone. Off-limits to ordinary visitors, Novo-Ogaryovo is glimpsed from afar only through satellite images and the steady stream of TV pictures from its wood-panelled office.
