St.Johannes Baptist und Johannes Evangelist

The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Johannes Baptist und Johannes Evangelist stands in Edelstetten, a village within the municipality of Neuburg an der Kammel in Swabian Bavaria. Built at the turn of the 18th century as the collegiate church of a noble women's foundation, it replaced a series of medieval predecessor buildings on the same site. The interior features elaborate stucco work and ceiling frescoes characteristic of the southern German Baroque, while the altars are attributed to sculptor Johann Michael Fischer, one of the most prolific woodcarvers of the era in the region. The church is a protected Baudenkmal under Bavarian heritage law.
