St. Ursula

St. Ursula is a small Roman Catholic chapel in Martinfeld, a village in the Eichsfeld district of Thuringia. It serves as a subsidiary church of the parish of St. Philippus und Jakobus Ershausen within the Diocese of Erfurt, and is dedicated to St. Ursula of Cologne, an early Christian martyr whose veneration has deep roots in the traditionally Catholic Eichsfeld region. The building is listed as a Kulturdenkmal — a protected cultural monument in Thuringia — marking it as part of the preserved rural church heritage of an area that maintained an unusually high Catholic identity throughout the GDR era.
