Berlin-Schöneweide

Berlin-Schöneweide station is a regional and S-Bahn stop in the Treptow-Köpenick district, situated along the Görlitzer Bahn rail line. During the GDR era it ranked as one of East Berlin's three principal long-distance stations, a status no longer reflected in its current role as a regional interchange. The adjacent freight marshalling yard is now decommissioned. The station building carries listed-monument status, retaining the industrial character of Schöneweide's working-class heritage, and serves today mainly as a transfer point between S-Bahn and regional services heading southeast.
