Cannon Street

London
  • Viktorianisch

Cannon Street Station is a Victorian terminus in the City of London, opened in 1866 to a design by engineer John Hawkshaw. Its original iron-and-glass roof and twin riverside towers were heavily damaged during the Blitz and largely stripped away during 1960s rebuilding, leaving little of the dramatic Victorian fabric intact. Today it functions almost entirely as a commuter hub serving southeastern suburbs, handling around 26 million rail passengers annually alongside connections to the Circle and District lines of the Underground.
