About Ahfir

Ahfir is a small city in the Oriental region of northeastern Morocco, situated close to the Algerian border. Home to around 16,000 people, it has the character of a quiet provincial town set amid gently hilly terrain. Local points of interest include the mosques Beit Allah and Al-Wafaa, the shrines of Sidi Slimane and Sidi Ali Taghilast, and the natural landmark of Jbel Foughal nearby. Ahfir makes a practical base for exploring the less-visited northeastern corner of Morocco away from the main tourist circuits.
