Chiba is a city of nearly one million people in Chiba Prefecture, situated on Tokyo Bay just east of the capital. As the prefectural seat, it combines a well-developed urban core with accessible green spaces such as 松ヶ丘公園 and 中田池公園. The waterfront district of Chiba-Minato offers views across the bay, and the 千葉銀行本店バラ園 provides a pleasant rose garden in the city centre.
