Osaka is Japan's third-largest city, situated on the western coast of Honshū at the mouth of the Yodo River where it meets Osaka Bay. Home to approximately 2.75 million people, it serves as the economic and cultural hub of the Kinki region. The city has long been central to Japanese commerce and urban life.
