Kerch

About Kerch

Kerch sits on the Kerch Strait connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, on the Crimean Peninsula, with a population of around 151,000. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the region, founded as the ancient Greek colony of Panticapaeum, traces of which remain visible today. The city offers a range of points of interest spanning millennia, including the archaeological site of Artesian, the Nizhnie Kez limestone quarries, the Voskhodovskoye mud volcano, and several military-historical sites such as a wartime bunker and a border memorial.
