About Khandbari

Khandbari is the administrative headquarters of Sankhuwasabha District in eastern Nepal, situated at roughly 1,000 metres above sea level. Home to around 26,000 people, it serves as a modest regional hub for trade and governance amid hilly mountain terrain. Points of interest include the Tundikhel open ground, the Siddhakali Mandir, the Panchakanya Devi Thaan, and the Dobato viewpoint overlooking the Arun River. A statue of Bhanubhakta Acharya, widely regarded as Nepal's first poet, stands in the town. Nearby localities include Nykholang and Jarayotar.
