About Mongar

Mongar is a small town and the administrative centre of Mongar District in eastern Bhutan, situated at roughly 1,600 metres elevation amid forested, hilly terrain. It serves as a practical base for exploring the surrounding region. Points of interest in the area include several religious sites — among them Larjab Lhakhang, Yadi Sangacholing Lhakhang, Womphug Lhakhang, and Tashicholing Lhakhang — as well as the pilgrimage site Tingkadrak Nye, the mountain lake Buli Tsho, Mani Dungkor, and Wogmin Khachoet Choelinng Lhakhang.
