About Bhutan
Bhutan is a landlocked kingdom in the eastern Himalayas, bordered by India and China. The country is widely known for its Buddhist monasteries, fortress-like dzongs, and a national policy that places Gross National Happiness at its core. Tourism is deliberately managed through a daily minimum spend requirement, keeping visitor numbers low. Dzongkha is the official language, and Thimphu serves as the capital and largest city. Much of the country's terrain is mountainous, with dense forests covering a significant portion of the land.
