About Tolyatti

Tolyatti sits on the shore of the Kuibyshev Reservoir on the Volga River in Samara Oblast and is home to roughly 660,000 people, making it one of Russia's larger cities. It is widely known as the base of AvtoVAZ, the manufacturer of Lada automobiles. Points of interest include several Orthodox churches — among them the Church of the Ascension and the Church of St. Nicholas — as well as the memorial sculpture "Ozhidaniye Soldata." The annual Prazdnik Avtostroiteley festival celebrates the city's automotive heritage.
