About Samtse

Samtse lies in the far southwest of Bhutan, close to the Indian border, and serves as the administrative centre of the Samtse District. With a population of around 5,000, it is a small town set among forested hills and gentle valleys. The surrounding area is home to several religious sites, including Sipcha Gompa, Yangtse Lhakhang, Lower Rangtse Lhakhang, and Shelma Lhakhang, alongside the communities of Sanguri, Mujnai, Carron, and Park Naya Busty.
