About Morocco
Morocco occupies the northwestern corner of Africa, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Algeria to the east, and Western Sahara to the south. Its landscapes range from the Atlas Mountains and Saharan dunes to fertile coastal plains. The imperial cities of Fès, Marrakech, Meknès, and the current capital Rabat reflect centuries of Arab, Berber, and European influence visible in architecture, language, and cuisine. A constitutional monarchy, Morocco has a population of around 37 million people.
