Viewpoints in Bern

Bern offers a surprisingly wide range of viewpoints for a Swiss capital. The Bantiger, topped by its distinctive TV tower, provides sweeping views across the city and the Mittelland plateau. For alpine panoramas, the Brienzer Rothorn and Augstmatthorn reward the journey, while the Aussichtsturm Chuderhüsi and Burgfeldstand offer quieter vantage points closer to the city. Summits and ridges such as Aermighorn, Blasenfluh, Belpberg, Burg Aris ob Kien, and Burg Grenchen round out the selection. Even the Bear pit in the old town frames an unexpected view down into the Aare gorge below.
