This exhibit in Sloviansk is an L-13 Blaník, a two-seat sailplane produced by the Czech manufacturer LET, nicknamed 'Blechnik' (tin bird) after its sheet-metal fuselage. During the Soviet era, decommissioned aircraft were commonly placed on public plinths as open-air monuments, and this Blaník is likely one such installation. It references the Soviet tradition of state-sponsored gliding clubs, where the Blaník was a widely used training aircraft.
