A. Batschari was a German cigarette manufacturer founded in Baden-Baden in 1899 by August Batschari, best remembered today not for its tobacco but for its pioneering advertising art. The company commissioned leading graphic designers of the Wilhelmine era — including Hans Rudi Erdt, Lucian Bernhard, and Ludwig Hohlwein — producing posters and promotional materials now regarded as landmarks of early German commercial design. Original Batschari enamel signs, tins, and posters have become sought-after collectibles.
