Baghdad's oldest major stadium (1966, 35,700 seats), home of record champions al-Zawraa SC.

Al-Shaab Stadium is Baghdad's most traditional football ground and was the largest stadium in Iraq until the Basra International Stadium opened in 2013. Built in 1966 with a capacity of 35,700, it is home to al-Zawraa SC (Iraq's record champions) and al-Shorta SC, and includes an athletics track. It served as Iraq's national team main venue for decades.
