The Baghdad TV Tower, officially the Al Ma'amoon Telecommunication Center Tower, is a prominent reinforced concrete tower in the western Yarmouk district of the Iraqi capital. Built between 1992 and 1994 under the Saddam regime, it was originally known as the Saddam International Tower — a name dropped after the fall of the regime in 2003. The tower functions as broadcasting and telecommunications infrastructure and stands as one of the few modern landmarks from the late Saddam era rising above Baghdad. It represents the construction policy of those years: large-scale, monumental, and built during the Gulf War period — a silent witness to a turbulent chapter of Iraqi history.
