Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park

Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park is a roughly 4,000-acre nature reserve in Orange County, tucked into the hills east of Laguna Beach. The park encompasses two oak- and sycamore-lined canyon systems connected by more than 30 miles of multi-use trails open to hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. It stands out as one of the few large intact wildlands within minutes of the dense Southern California coast, providing habitat for coyotes, mule deer, and raptors amid dense chaparral. Ridge trails reward visitors with views stretching to the Pacific on clear days. Admission is free; trailhead parking off Aliso Creek Road is open daily.
