Allegheny Cemetery

Allegheny Cemetery is one of Pittsburgh's oldest and largest burial grounds, laid out in 1844 in the tradition of the rural cemetery movement — a design philosophy that conceived cemeteries as park-like retreats for the living, predating the public park system in most American cities.
