The Alte Burg — also called Burg Emerfeld — is not a medieval castle but a probable early-Celtic cult and assembly site straddling the boundary between Langenenslingen and Emerfeld in the Landkreis Biberach, Baden-Württemberg. Protected as a Kulturdenkmal, the site's exact function remains an open archaeological question: whether it served as a religious gathering place, a tribal assembly ground, or both has not been conclusively determined. Visitors today find no standing structures, only a quiet wooded rise whose atmosphere hints at the site's deep prehistoric past.
