Jonėnų piliakalnis

Jonėnų piliakalnis is a prehistoric hillfort mound near Vilnius — an earthwork raised during the Baltic Iron Age to serve as a fortified settlement or ritual high place. Lithuania counts over 800 such piliakalniai, many of which remained in use as defensive strongholds well into the medieval period; they are considered defining landmarks of pre-Christian Baltic culture. The site is registered as an archaeological attraction. A woodland path leads to the summit, which typically offers open views across the surrounding countryside.
