Old Town Hall

The Old Town Hall on Bydgoszcz's historic market square is a Gothic brick structure raised incrementally through the 13th and 14th centuries, considered one of the finest examples of medieval civic architecture in Central Europe. The building was reconstructed after serious damage in the 18th century, yet retained its Gothic structural character — stepped gabling, brick masonry, and a commanding market-facing footprint. It now serves as the seat of the regional district museum, keeping the medieval townscape in active cultural use. Protected as an immovable monument under Polish heritage law, it remains the architectural centerpiece of the old town complex.
