Old Town Hall Bratislava

Slovakia's oldest town hall, a 14th-century complex in Bratislava's Old Town.

The Old Town Hall in Bratislava's historic centre is a complex of buildings dating from the 14th century and is the oldest surviving city hall in Slovakia. The ensemble was formed in the 15th century by merging three townhouses, with the tower already constructed around 1370. Over the centuries it was remodelled several times, accumulating Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. Today it houses the City Museum of Bratislava. The medieval cellars, which once served as a prison and interrogation rooms, are among the most atmospheric spaces in the building.
