Vincent de Paul Basilica in Bydgoszcz

The Basilica of St. Vincent de Paul is a Roman Catholic parish church of the Diocese of Gniezno, located in Bydgoszcz in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland. Completed in 1945, the brick structure was built in a neoclassical style — a deliberate choice of historicizing forms at a moment when much of European religious architecture was turning toward modernism. It is dedicated to Vincent de Paul, the French founder of the Vincentian order and patron saint of charitable work, and holds the ecclesiastical honorary title of Basilica minor. Listed as an immovable heritage monument under Polish law, the church remains an active place of worship, its austere classical interior reflecting the sobriety of the postwar years in which it was built.
