Ambalangoda

Ambalangoda is a small coastal town on Sri Lanka's southwest coast, roughly 90 kilometers south of Colombo. It is regionally recognized as the center of traditional Sinhalese mask-making: family workshops have carved and painted the vivid wooden masks used in Kolam theatre and Sanni exorcism rituals for generations. Fishing defines daily life along the shoreline, and the beaches here remain noticeably quieter than those around nearby Galle or Hikkaduwa.
