Akhziv National Park

Akhziv is an ancient ruined settlement on the Mediterranean coast of northern Israel, close to the Lebanese border. Archaeological excavations have uncovered Phoenician-period cemeteries, Iron Age ceramics, and jewelry that place the site among the more significant finds in the region. In the Hebrew Bible, Akhziv was assigned to the tribe of Asher — yet according to the Book of Judges it was never fully brought under Israelite control, a historical footnote that adds texture to its layered past. Within the framework of Akhziv National Park, visitors today can swim and snorkel along one of the few undeveloped stretches of Israel's coastline, with ancient ruins and rocky coves sharing the same shoreline.
